GrafixBabe Design was started in Spokane in 2009. Robin Carlson, the owner, moved from Anchorage, Alaska after working for the State of Alaska as a graphic designer and cartographer for 30 years. During those years, Robin was involved with several non-profit groups and donated many hours of her time creating newsletters, posters, flyers, and calendars as her way of giving back to the world.
GrafixBabe Design is all about helping Spokane's small business owners to have affordable marketing materials that work.
An added benefit of working with GrafixBabe is that Robin works closely with her husband, Michael Carlson, a small business marketing consultant with Target Marketing Spokane. Many times Robin has Michael give her feedback on different projects she is working on. GrafixBabe Design clients often get expert marketing help for free!
When Robin Carlson, now known as The Grafix Babe, was a little girl, while everyone else was sending birthday and Christmas cards bought from the store, Robin insisted on making her own because she wanted to say just the right thing to each loved one. A graphic artist was born. From crayons to paint to a drafting table and then to a computer, Robin has loved sharing her talents while making a living doing it. For 30 years in Alaska while working for the state as a graphic designer and cartographer, she would marvel that she went to work, played all day, and then they paid her for it.

During her years in Alaska, Robin was involved with several non-profit groups and donated many hours of her time creating newsletters, posters, flyers, and calendars as her way of giving back to the world. In 2002, Robin married Michael Carlson, an Anchorage business owner, and began creating a great deal of business graphics. In 2008, Robin retired from the State of Alaska, and she and Michael relocated to beautiful (and much warmer) Spokane. One year later, Robin started Grafix Babe Design.
